Did you know that The Good Toy Guide advocates Brio Trains as one of five suggested educational toys for toddlers and preschoolers? To reference them, a Brio Train is,

"a train with interactive details that encourages children to master small movements and hand eye coordination. Controlling the train and constructing the tracks creates an awareness of cause and effect, early scientific understanding and basic mathematical concepts."

Different manufacturers similarly can make fabulous train sets and equipment. They satisfy these criteria and are thought of as educational toys for youngsters.

Before we start out, though, I want to tell you a secret.... there are not truly educational toys. Nope. Playthings and toys are just a prop. It is in the actual play that sets exactly how useful a certain toy is to the little one who has been playing with it.

Toys will not teach cognitive skills. What they do is stimulate a child to build them, and give little ones an outlet to be clever and enterprising. And that's what exactly makes expertly manufactured playthings paramount. A toy that is not high quality can cause a good deal of disappointment while the kid cannot readily direct it.

That will bring us to the second issue. Moms and dads, in case you're going to obtain a wood train set and aren't thinking of getting a table set up for the train set, the train tracks could continually get moved on the ground and your little ones will become annoyed. Soon, they will quit playing with that train set at all.

At least that is exactly what happened to my grandkids. So I fashioned and constructed a wooden nearly indestructable toy train table (none of this fake wood that would not survive for longer than 1 year, and the screws and nails get stripped and damage the wood!).
